ABOUT THE ART
Pastels are composed of the crystals of pure pigment. When used in painting, the vibrancy of the crystals gives pastel paintings their unique depth and luster.
Monotypes are single prints made from an ink or paint plate. Monotype ghosts are a second print and are often used as the underpainting for pastels.
Please follow the links to see the diversity of this medium and to learn more about the artist.
The pastels shown here are on professional or museum grade sanded paper using high quality, colorfast pastels.
